This group works side by side with the University of Utah QUAFFS affinity group with their permission.
This informal group is open to anyone who wants to participate as long as rules of respect and courtesy are followed. UVU Quaffs is maintained and funded externally to UVU (by Anne Arendt) but aims to support all within and around UVU. You belong. Arendt was not able make an official employee resource group at UVU due to interpretation of current Utah legislation.
Our goal: to create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes visibility and fosters belonging for LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff. Through advocacy, education, and community-building initiatives, the group aims to address challenges unique to the LGBTQIA+ community, champion equal rights, and cultivate allyship across campus. By providing safe spaces, resources, and mentorship, the group empowers individuals to embrace their identities and thrive academically, personally, and professionally within a welcoming and equitable higher education setting.
